how do you mean?  when do you mean?

ok for instance...take Hitler.  He was sent away for exposing dangerous political behaviour.  But he still had people on the outside, people that we didn't really realise off that they supported him.  They paved the way to allow him to get free and take over

same with the old ones, except that there it happened over generations.  When the original five locked the old ones up in another dimension, they may have gotten rid of these all powerful creatures.  but their human followers...some will most definately have been smart enough not to let people see that they are followers.  But they would have worked hard to find a way to get the old ones free, and pass their knowledge on to others who would continue their work after the original followers had died.  this group of people together with the old ones might have find ways to crack the gates, enough so that the old ones culd give them the power they'd need to completely open them and get a large amount of followers ready for when they were to break out

because they weren't as strong yet, and matt had nuclear power to back him up.  he didn't have an entire nuclear facility at his disposal in the middle of the desert.  Only part of Chaos had gotten through and the gat was not yet fully opened in Raven's Gate, so closing it was easier.  However in Evil star Chaos was out almost completely and the gate was fully open

Ok matt defeated the old ones way too easyily in this book. He was weak and he stuck out and all of a sudden hurt hundereds of the most powerful beings ever. Only the five are suposed to be able to kill them and Matt almost did by half heartedly attacking them. It was dumb.

yeah it was sucicide yes but it slowed them down so their was still time for the 5 too get together. and he had help from pedro
two out of 5 was enough to slow them down
and for that other piont, past matt said the ground was weak in the nasca deasert so chaso could let a small trickle of his essance through
