AH always sends his villians to their gory comeupances--and enjoys doing os. I remeber him saying in an interview that he "just couldn't wait" to send a certain villain to a gory end on a plane. It had to have Damian Cray, who was torn up in the propellors.

hi!

i'm elizabeth, and i'm 14 years old. i starting picking up his books at 9-10...so i've kinda grown up with the books (along with harry potter, but i get bored, ya know?) but i think what really appeals to his writing  is the subtle wit and dry humour that makes it an interesting read. then there's the alex rider series which he writes about alex at a very vulnerable age...he is only a reluctant teen with adult expectations...and i suppose that because teens today face expectations like that from parents (score the perfect goal, get the perfect grade...)and we can really relate to alex.... despite not having gadgets  Shocked

and then there's his movie ...STORMBREAKER!!!.... i live in canada and i went to the film fest....i LOVED IT!!! and the q&a session after was amazing! never thought i'd meet anthony horowitz in CANADA! (you know NOTHING as cool as that happens here!)

I agree wth everything you said....The books are very intresting  grin
Also Mr Horowitz does lots of research for his books, so they seem more realistic  grin

i fid his style of writing best suited to his horror and comiedy books, not as much to the power of five or alex rider.  i am not saying i don't like these, i just find the horror and comedy such as diamond brothers better suited to him.

Well, the power of 5, especially the original, still have that horror aspect in it.  In alex Rider it's a lot less...that's why I like those less as well

the language AH uses is realy easy to read and is very straight forward. another thing in AH's AR books is that when the story comes by a particular gun he describes it in detail including which model and what type. this is something i've never seen in any other books.

Plus Mr Horowitz always has capable children (N.D, A.R, M.F...erm that kid from Groosham Grange) and slightly bumbling ineffectual adults (and a lot of rubbish teachers!) Often the children are partnered with a slightly more bumbling inneffectual adult that they normally end up saving from themselves (Tim Diamond, Richard Cole...not so much with Jack Starbright, but kind of!)

High speed action, contempory setting. Even with the Evil Star series it's still not fantasical like Harry Potter or His Dark Materials.
