another piece of evidence that i'm not crazy and this does exist, lol.  I came across a textbook for the dutch classes here in school, and it has a piece of this book in it!  however in the review it says that this is his first adult book, in stead of his second...

I subscribed here solely to look for information about this book.
I just cannot comprehend how it's been possible for it to remain under the radar!

I also bought it in Antwerpen at the boekenbeurs. It appears to be written in 1999, according to the cover, and it is clearly stated this is his first adult-oriented book. However all interviews/sites list the 2002 Killing Joke as his first?!

The original title is listed as "Poisened Pen" (note the misspelling)

It's been a while since I read it, but from what I can remember it was a great read! Shakespeare living in the current age is just a very nice twist.

P.S.: The A.H. wikipedia page could use a cleanup on this matter, but I guess we'd need sources for that...

edit:
It also seems to have been translated into Spanish: El asesinato de Shakespeare.
The back cover contains an accolade by David Suchet, along with 4 strictly Dutch/Belgian press reviews.

OK, well...My friend brought this book with her to be signed today, and AH has said that this book simply did not get published in English, which explains a lot of why it has been so rare to find.  I'm kind of wishing I had this book signed in stead of Mindgame...it would have been even more valuable then, but meh

Do you know where she found it?  I really can't find it anywhere.

In Belgium you can buy it in some book stores.  It only ever got published in Dutch, and then the name is "William S", if that helps

I'm from Belgium.  In the library they have this book, but I still haven't found a bookstore where they sell it.

Well mine's a third edition, by BMP Antwerpen. ISBN number 90-572-0102-X
There's also a version by Contintental Publishing Antwerpen/Amsterdam.

Unfortunately I can't find a website for either of them.  I suppose you'll just have to be lucky :s

Edit:  A friend of mine with greater internet skills than my own found a place where you can buy it online, from holland though:
