I really liked the book it was strange to read a fantasy book written by AH only having read the Alex Rider series I kept finding myself trying to look for similarities between them. I give it 8/10 because the book was quite short and I prefer them longer.

I just thought it was overall a great book.  Similar to AR in many ways, but also different in the sense of it being supernatural and such.

I LOVED it!!!!!!!! ANOTHER of my favorite things about AH is the way he is able to write so many different genres whilst still having his own unique style

AH has always wrote twisted things, that are scary. And he has a talent. Ravens Gate was the second of his book I read and I absolutly love it. I wish that it was a series that goes on and on forever.

Anthony Horrowitz's Raven's Gate was actually one read where I didn't know what would happen at the end. It has quite a few twists and turns that only complement the novels climaxes. (This is NOT a review by the way, just me praising the book without any common structure!) I thought the characters were well developed however, I got the feeling like I didn't get to know some of them entirely well. This may or may not be an entirely bad thing, but it does become difficult to feel even more scared when we figure out who the town people really are. I know I probably don't make any sense.. lol whatever. I would give it a 9/10.

Raven's Gate.

Well, first things first, a few minor complaints. What is it with Anthony and 14 year olds with no parents? The younger Diamond brother is 14 (I think), Alex is 14, and all the Gatekeepers are 14. Very strange.

Also, aside from the connotations of the word "Raven", i.e. Death, I really don't get why they called it Raven's Gate.

Aside from that, a very good read. Personally, I prefferred Evil Star, but I always find myself liking sequels to books more than the originals.

It's called Ravens gate because the gate is called ravens gate.

Yeah - I got that, but why call the gate Raven's Gate? Why not "Lesser Malling" Gate? (OK, bad example, but you get my point, right?) I suppose we'll find out in Nightshade.
