Everyone loved the books, but you have to admit, there were some minor flaws in it.

I thought that how Anthony Horowitz "killed" so many people (AR's dad+mom, Ash, Yassen, Jack, Ian Rider and villans) was a bit weird. Just because he can make people die, it doesn't mean they have to.

It was necessary. All good authors agree on one thing; The main character, in the end, has to go it alone. No help. That can't be achieved unless all parental/authority figures in that persons life are in one way or another, out of the way. Same thing happened with Harry Potter. Only difference being he had one parental figure left in his life (Hagrid) by the end.

If any of those people you mentioned (other than perhaps ASH, depending on how sorry you think he was) would have helped Alex and wouldn't let him go it alone had they been kept alive.

As for the villains, it was rather kill them or have them arrested, not really any other way to do it besides that.

I didn't like how AR was always acting the martyred hero - I never wanted all this to happen, stop asking me to save the world, etc, etc.
It's the same I suppose with Harry Potter - especially in the movies, Harry was unsufferable!

Agreed, bwahaha. I have thought about something Stephanie Meyers said something about how killing characters, even small ones, left the reader wondering what the character could have been. And I have to say that there were a lot of people who died in the series.

I think Anthony should have killed Sabina, not Jack. Alex could get over Sabina but I think it would be worse to lose someone who was like a mother to him.

D. Cray: "Do, please, go ahead."

Alex: "My first one is for Yassen Gregorovich." He turned to the Russian. "Why are you working for this lunatic?"

In this case, I wanted a fairytale ending.  Jack adopting Alex.
Alex should have told sabina how it is.
I would rather have jack's and ian's dead carcasses than live with you. You can do nothing for me.

Yassen: Where's Cray?
Alex: He went off his trolley.
Yassen: He's dead?
Alex: Very.

Yassen: You should forget about me.
Alex: I'll never forget you.
*long pause*
Yassen: Oh, kiss me you fool!

It would be cool if Jack married someone and adopted Alex
