According to Wikipedia (yes, I know it's only Wikipedia... but still) "A TV series of Stormbreaker was announced by ITV. If it is successful, all nine books, short stories and Yassen will be made into TV series". Is there anyone else who has any information or have heard this rumor?  smiley

Those would be some short TV episodes. They would have to wreck the entire series by adding filler.

No way.
They can't do a TV series that would totally ruin it!

Where was it on Wikipedia?  Can you send me the link?

I think a tv series, if done in a proper way, would be a good alternative to making movies of the books. This as due to the format of a TV series they wouldn't have to cut out that much from the story itself. From a fan perspective that would of course mean that they could stay more true to the books. Also as it is ITV that is rumored to be picking up the Alex Rider series, the same company that has also produced Foyle's War and more of Anthony Horowitz's work, I feel that they probably know and trust him as a writer and thus would not perhaps want to destroy the series by making it into some sort of crappy entertainment that runs for less than a season...

So, actually I am rather positive to the idea of Alex Rider being made into a TV series, if that rumor turns out to be true

Btw, here's the link from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Rider If you scroll down to "Films" you should be able to find it..

Oh okay that. The same thing was on Alex Rider wikia and it was like a year ago.
Plus they said on there that it was just a rumor because no where can you find anyone from the company saying it will happen. Thank goodness.

Well if they did it well, then yeah, I it could work out.  Just as long as they don't drain the life out of it. undecided

(btw, thanks for the link!)

I don't think the book would make a very successful TV series, after all, if it were true to the books and people who were not familiar to the books were to start later in the series or missed an episode would be quite lost. Also, TV series tend to have a mini story in each episode, something I cannot see happening with AR. All in all it would be a waste of money and resources, not at all worthwhile.

Who would I be... If I'd never met Alex Rider?

In a TV series they would be able to keep everything in it; in a movie if everything was included it would be 'too long'. And also, you might have a website where you can pick up on episodes or watch a whole book.

I think they should not make episodes on the real books , they should make Episodes which do not continue , I mean every episode should have a different stories, not on the real books and of course ALEX RIDER will be starring wink

Im not sure if they should make a TV series because stormbreaker already has:
The Book.
The Graphic Novel.
The Movie.
The DS game.
The Boardgame.

It doesn't need anything else!

Good point - but then look how much they made out of books and series' like Harry Potter and Twilight!! But I totally agree that a TV show would be overdoing it a little, and as I said before, it probably wouldn't work out anyway...
