oh man I love Uglies. It's perhaps the second best series I have ever read. I think my favorite series' goes like this
1) Alex Rider
2) Maximum Ride or Uglies
3) Percy Jackson
4) Heroes of Olympus, but this kind of ties with Percy Jackson, and they're related
5) Has anybody read A Wrinkle in Time??
I THINK I've read A Wrinkle in Time a while ago - but I don't really remember...

I tried Uglies, but stopped soon after the pleasure gardens (Sorry Annette), and yes my fellow bloggers, I did say pleasure gardens, and they are exactly what they sound like. (No, not a garden of Sabina, thank God)
Anywho, my list in order of awesomeness is this,
1.) Alex Rider
2.) Percy Jackson
3.) Harry Potter ( I didn't really relate to the HP books as much as others. I love Harry Potter, but I just like the other ones better.)
4.) Maximum Ride

Ok isabelle. You can't just stop there. Your stereotyping that book. Read more. And ummmmm....you relate more to children with pens that turn into swords if uncapped than you do to people with sticks? Atleast sticks are real

NO WAYY HARRY POTTER IS THE BEST!!!!
And Percy Jackson with his pen is so stupid compared to a wand. Having a wand would be awesomer than a stick ar a sword or a gun or a pen turning into a sword (why bother when you can have A WAND)

after reading Alex Rider, Percy Jackson just seems really childish. I didn't like it that much.

I guess I'm not really meaning just AR but Anthony Horowitz in general. But if it makes you feel any better Rick Riordan writes better than John Green. I know a lot of people my age and younger who write a ton better than John.(No offense John if he everr sees this!)

AH's stuff is pretty awesome (I like Po5 more than AR. Well, depending on my mood), Harry Potter got me reading (amazing!) and Percy Jackson I like because Percy is truly likeable. Harry can get annoying, Alex is too intense, but Percy is just all round nice (Son of Neptune anyone?! How sweet is he?)
So I think that's where Percy picks up points. It is aimed at a younger target audience compared to Potter and Rider, but that doesn't really matter too much. Potter gets points for imagination and Rider for being a total dude.

Exactly what I was trying to get at! And ya, PO5 is pretty good.

OK Annette. You don't have room to talk! You never even read the books! I'm not saying Harry Potter isn't awesome, he is! All I'm saying is that the books got a little boring in parts and Harry was kinda mean sometimes. And YES I know he was posessed by Voldemort! I KNOW! But still, he got pretty snappy and unrelatable to me. Just my opinion. Don't get me wrong, Harry is awesome! A highly recommended series, something I think everyone should read.
As for Uglies, I DID read more and I guess it's just not my type of book. Face it, it's pretty weird.
Percy Jackson can be considered childish compared to Alex Rider. Percy deals with monters trying to kill him, not usually people. Plus they use swords not guns. I think a gun is a lot scarier than a sword, just because it's a lot harder to fight someone with gun. However, I think Percy handled tragety a little better then Alex Rider. Percy is just funny and light hearted all the time. Alex can be really thick. And no one can disagree that the Alex Rider series is a little depressing. Amazing, but depressing. When I read Percy Jackson I can't help but smile and laugh out loud! I love Alex, you guys all know that, but sometimes I just want to read things that make me laugh, not cry. Can you respect that?

Rick Riordan was originally a HISTORY TEACHER, so I'd say he's an excellent writer for his occupation.
And he's also a really busy man (he's currently writing for two different series at the same time, and both are in high demand!)
