Quote From Unknown Book?

This is a quote that Anthony Horowitz gave an interviwer in an old interview, claiming that it was from the, at the time, new novel Crocodile Tears. However, this did not appear. Did AH simply change his mind and change the plot? Because I can't see this quote fitting in anywhere in CT. Anyway, here's the quote:
"Alex, do you really think you're the only one?" he said. "We offer a way out, an escape, they chase us but we live. Help us save others who are bound by the same shackles, Alex. Join us."
Now, let's analyze this.
The first line...do you think you're the only one? That sounds like they could be talking about him being used and being put in danger from being a spy.
It sounds to me like there's a group of people just like Alex, that have formed a sort of team together, and their main purpose is to save other people who have the same problems and get them to join as well.
Could this be a potential plot for Scorpia Rising?

Sounds like a conversation between Alex and Scorpia...
What interview was this? You should try and find the link.
And yes i think it is Potential Plot for Scorpia Rising.

Don't remember what interview. But I just found out it is confirmed that he did indeed change CT's plot half way through. So question now is, will he re use his idea or is it just a dead idea that will never be used.

I think it might be used in some context like: Jack kills blunt and dies doing it. Alex feels confused and angry and then Scorpia make their move on him then we get that quote. Of course that doesn't exactly fit in with what we know about SR...
Though it could come in at the end when he decides once and for all where his loyalties lie: With MI6, Scorpia or himself. This line sounds like it could be delivered by Yassen or Ash and it sounds more like something Yassen might say. So that would fit in with Yassen being in this one... Sorry DON I'm ranting aren't i?

I completely forgot about that quote! I remember using that as one of my main subjects to theorize about in anticipation for CT. But when CT actually came out I got wrapped up in it and completely forgot about the whole thing.
Now for analyzing:
"Alex, do you really think you're the only one?" he said. "We offer a way out, an escape, they chase us but we live. Help us save others who are bound by the same shackles, Alex. Join us."
I don't think it's Scorpia. He's done associating with them and he's not stupid enough to fall for their tricks again. I always thought it fit into my whole Yassen theory. Yassen comes back to help him escape from being a spy because you can't just choose to not be a part of that world anymore, especially when you have so many enemies. You have to escape and hide for a long time. Or exchange Yassen with another group of ex-spies. It also brings to mind some sort of prison scenario. I can just see a group of other teenagers all grimy and trapped in a weird cell in the basements of some bad guy's secret place. (That last part could actually work Scorpia back into it maybe. Like if he was captured by them for some reason rather than killed.)
Or it fit into that original plot line but doesn't make sense anywhere now.

I have a thoery IF this plot will be used for SR. I mean he just might have gotten rid of this quote altogether and we'll never see it. But if we do, I think it might have something to do with Jones kids. Not sure why. But I hope we do see this quote!

I agree with AR:A it seems to fit into a Yassen saves Alex scenario quite well. At first i thought it might fit in with Ash as well but probably not.. And i can sort of see Mrs. Jones' kids being involved in some sort of freedom agency, one whose aim is to abolish all forms of Secret Service.
What did you have in mind for Mrs. Jones' kids, Don?

Well, when I hear someone say "I had my kids taken away" it usually means due to bad parenting. Maybe they were taken because she tried to use them like Alex. And maybe they are part of some organization to help kids like that. Or maybe the school is SR has something to do with it as well.

I don't think she would have put her own children in that kind of danger, after all she didn't want Alex in it and they have said that Alex is completely unique.

Well, he IS competely unique now. Doesn't mean he always was. And she doesn't want to use Alex but she still does, so what's to stop her using her own kids?

Well she obviously doesn't have enough of a heart to stop using Alex. She has enough of one to feel bad but not a big enough one to stop. Although they say they'll stop all the time.

Hey Isabelle, one-word posts aren't allowed. Especially if you're just going to say "true" or "agreed" or something that doesn't contribute to the conversation. (Thought there probably aren't any instances where a one-word post can contribute to conversation. Which is probably why they made the rule.) But I know you're new so just don't do it again.
As for Ms. Jones' kids, what if it's just something basic like she was such a workaholic that her husband divorced her and got custody of the kids. I don't really remember the mention of them.

There was only ever two mentions of them...One, Alex was in the car with Blunt in Scorpia and asked if Mrs Jones was married or had kids and he said she was married and had 2 kids. And Alex asked what happened to them and he just said they were taken. And that was it. Then when Alex was in her apartment he saw the photo of the both of them. Both boys I think.
