Well to be fair, if you want me to keep this topic, I want real criticism (all constructive, and remember it doesn't have to be negative) on your lowest rated book and highest rated book.

Why did you give it a ten, what warranted a 7 etc.

Otherwise, I'll lock this and link it back to the 'best AR book' as the threads are too similar.

ok. for example, scorpia and eagle strike get 10/10 because they were the ARs that kept me up all night reading and captivated me the most. the 9/10s were good books, but not the best of the series. and skeleton key recieved an 8/10 becuz it was my least fav to read, not that it was bad, but wasn't as good as the others

See, that's great!

Was it the storyline that you didn't like in Skeleton Key? Because it was one of my favourites.

Scorpia and Eagle Strike 10. These were easily my two favourite books. I liked the information about Alex's past in Scorpia and also the scene in Mrs Jones' apartment was very good. I also found the concept of Invisible Sword interesting. It also ends with a cliffhanger that made me want to pick up Ark Angel straight after reading it. I liked Yassen in Eagle Strike and also while Damon is mad I can understand his point. The only way drugs can be stopped is if they are not supplied or if there is no market, even if he went the wrong way about it. This makes him my favourite villain. This is also the first book that Alex spys because he wants to and not because he has been blackmailed.

Stormbreaker 10: While I didn't like this as much as Scorpia or Eagle Strike it pulls you in from the start. The first line is one line in the series that I will never forget. Alex investigating Ian's death is interesting, even though I knew where it would lead. Throughout the book, especially at the end I had expected Yassen to become the primary antagonist of the series, however I like the role that Yassen did fill even better.

Crocodile Tears 9.5: I really liked the glimpse into Alex's every day life in this book. The way that MI6 persuade Henry to not write his article is also interesting, in fact the whole Henry storyline is well written. Alan Blunt actually appears human for a few seconds in this book and I hope to see more of this in Scorpia Rising. I would have liked to see more of the Indian Secret Service and also you'd imagine that Alex would have figured out by now that talking won't help him.

Ark Angel 8: I like the beginning with the talk. Also Alex being captured in Paul's place is so like Alex. He says he doesn't want to spy and then he goes and does something that is bound to lead to trouble. I like the concept of the space hotel and also Tamara is interesting. The scenes in Space are good.

Skeleton Key 8. I enjoyed The plot overall but I found Alexi Sarov a weak villain. Even when Alex has made it clear that he wants nothing to do with him he still offers him chances and even kills himself. While this shows that he may have been a good person just doing what he felt was right, seeing him at the start of the book discredits that theory. I think that he should have been more ruthless.

Snakehead: 7.5: Ben Daniels and the information about Ash was interesting but overall the plot didn't appeal to me as much as the others. I think that Alex should have realised that losing the fight was his best option, as well as the fact that putting his finderprints into Royal Blue was silly, but I found the twist surprising and Winston Yu is interesting to compare to Herod Sayle.

Point Blanc 7: The beginning with Skoda was good but I expected him to have more relevance to the plot. Once Alex got to the academy the plot moved quickly, but while I can see that it was necessary to spend time with the Friends I found that part of the book very slow.

Agreed!

It's strange. I haven't re-read the books in a long time, but Skeleton Key has remained my favourite, and I can't even remember why anymore. Though I loved Scorpia for the ending. Anyone that's read it will know that it was one of *those* endings. I was so depressed at the end of it haha.

Hmm ... I read them backwards (Ark Angel, Scorpia, Eagle Strike, Skeleton Key, Point Blanc THEN Stormbreaker ... unintentionally, oddly enough ^^) but even though I knew Scorpia's ending wasn't legit, it's my favorite for the story.

I'd give Scorpia a ten xD I just loved the whole "Alex, you dad was an assassin!" thing with Julia Rothman .. and all the crossing, and double-crossing.

Skeleton Key was like a nine for me ^^ But that's probably one of the things I love most about Alex Rider ... even my least favorite book wouldn't get less than an eight. They're just so awesome to read, even if they're not in order.

I liked most of the AR books, but I'm going to say that Ark Angel certainly wasn't my favourite. I thought it was a bit over the top, and I was all confused at Alex not really being dead.

Ark Angel was the first Alex Rider book I read. It's probably not my favorite, but I liked it all the same. I found Nikolei Drevin to be quite a good villain - and I was intrigued by Paul and everything. I'll admit the flight to space was a bit fantastical, but at the time I bought it quite easily, mainly because of the way it was written xD

I'd give it an eight, all things considered. My least favorite is probably Snakehead ... I'm not sure why.

Snakehead was good for me, purely because I disliked Ark Angel so much that I wasn't expecting anything from SH. That being said, I think age has something to do with it as well. I'm getting old xP Which makes reading some books not nearly as exciting as it used to be, and it depresses me.

I thought both Snakehead and Ark Angel were fairly good.  I remember not especially liking Ark Angel, until the end.  But when I re-read the series I decided that I liked it better than I thought, but less than some of the others.  Snakehead was kind of the opposite.  When I read it I liked it a lot, but as time when on I forgot the awesome parts, but when I re-read it I thought it was really good.  I loved the background info about ASH, etc.  But Scorpia is still my favorite.  It's just so epic.  It always makes me want to go to Italy, order a granita, and stop some purse thieves with birdseed.

Well...this is difficult. I like all AR books very much.  Except Ark Angel, I didn't like it. It was too...incredible? Hallooo 14 years old boy go to space?  rolleyes Okey  that is book, no real life but  I think still that it was too much.
Stormbreker is the best. It was my first AR book what I read. I bought it two years ago and I have read it many, many times.
And I give to other books:

point blank: 8  - It was too short! If it had been a little bit longer I would have given 9.
skeleton key: 9
eagle strike: - I can't remember what happened in Eagle Strike. I read it long, long ago.
scorpia: 9
snakehead: 8

And I haven't yet read Crocodile Tears.

Firstly, you need to read Crocodile Tears!

Second, I always think it's weird that everyone points out the unrealistic-ness of Alex going to space (it is a bit farfetched) but no one ever say that about the fact that they made an identical clone of him.  The latter seems much more unrealistic to me.  However, I still love Point Blank for the snowboarding scene.
