Hey, sending Alex off to Ireland wouldn't be such a bad idea...

Maybe he can meet dancing leprechauns and find himself a pot of gold so he can quit MI6 and live in luxury  smiley

I feel obliged to answer you since no one else is but I'm afraid I can't really help you. I was interested to know as well what the Extras were but I've searched all over the internet and can't find a thing either :/
