I need ideas...

Hello,

I'm currently writing an AH-style story. It's called "The Adventures of Zack Stardright", and it's about a kid called Zack who keeps having to be a hero (NOT like Alex Rider who is forced by MI6, but he falls into the situations eg. his school is taken hostage). And I need an idea for a weapon.

In part 4, a bad guy plans to destroy entire cities with a high-tech weapon and I haven't thought of what the weapon could be! It's a special weapon devoloped by top-secret evil scientists and engineers, but I don't know what to make the weapon. I though of a machine that creates artificial hurricanes but that was a little far-fetched and unoriginal, so I need ideas!

If you give me an idea I'm happy with I'll include you in the acknoledgements (did I spell that right?) page and sent you the chapter. Please help me! I need ideas!

an earthquake machine would be plausible, but unoriginal.  What about something that somehow amplifies the suns rays or something to make it really hot outside.  Not like so hot that if you step out side you'll instantly burn to death, but more like it'll burn you and make you sweat a lot and everyone will be trapped inside sort of. and Maybe it grows with intensity the longer its that way so maybe it starts to make the people inside suffocate or buildings and stuff start to melt. That would be cool.

P.S.  Zack Stardright sounds a lot like Jack Starbright haha

It really depends. Do they intend to give a demonstration of it's capabilities? Because if they don't you could make it so no charaters ndon know what it is and the bad guys dot actually have one specific weapon. Just a series of mediocre weapons that appear to be one whilethey spread rumors about it's abilities. Much harder to fight myth and rumor. Also try something that spoils fresh supplies. With no known way to combat it.

well use like an EMP (electro magnetic pulse) weaponry it'll take out any thing electronic with in its wave spread. Or you could use something more planet scale what do you need the device to do?
