BP voting

Okay, as you may know our beloved BP gypolord...cant be BP no more  .

and he recomended that me or fob be the next BP until the next elections.

unfortunatly fob is on holiday. so we have the following options.

Hold a full scale election NOW.

hold a mini election between me and fob and make me (not trying to be...you know) bp until fob is back.
anymore sujestions of what you want would be helpful. REPLY!

but I wanted to start this topic to get people thinking about it.

And Rocket, unless we hold a full on election now, then there (i dont think personaly) is not enough time to go through all the nominations, campaining, voting etc.

But I am not incharge of BP stuff - bingo is - and then fobzies. one has dissapeared and the other is on holiday.

My Board President vote goes to Pedro-ologist as you seem very organised and know what you're doing. For instance, you created tihs topic rather than carrying it on in the lounge *gives thumbs up* And you do seem to talk to people and pop up in every board discussion os there's my vote.

I think a deputy would be a good idea in case the President will be away for any length of time (like holiday)... uhm, who's Fob? Becuase I may vote for fob as deputy if I know who that person is.

Thank you! (its funny, because when i ran for BP no one voted for me...lol) And i do post alot...but that is only because I always have something to say, I only post if what I have to say is worth while.

And a deputy would be a good Idea. I think at the next BP elections we should change the constitution so that there is a deputy who is chosen by the BP...

Oh dear God... this is getting way too political now.. Soon we'll be having like, Board Members Rights or something... All BMs have the right to a computer/laptop with internet... All BMs have the right to an opinion without rotten e-fruit/veg thrown...

A deputy... Would it make sense to make deputies that run half through one BP and then half through the other... EG with Olympics and Winter Olympics, there's 4 years between each but they run 2 years differently.. does that make sense? I'll try explain again...
So we have a BP and then half way through their...running... we change DBP and they stay on until the next BP is half way through... Make sense? I had a good reason for this only I forgot it... Something like when the BP is being voted in there's someone else to focus on other stuff and then the new BP gets someone who knows the ropes (if they don't already) and the same for the new DBP...
Good idea? Bad idea? I don't know...

If I may, I would like to make a suggestion. The new Board President is to be chosen next month, as time for this president to give up their responsibilities finishes on September 30th. With the authorization of the moderators, perhaps we could launch full scale Board President Elections. This would even give us more time for campaigning and voting.

You know, Board President has nothing to do with us. They have no official powers and any votes are made a members and not mods. Therefore it's up to you to decide not to do.

Here's what I think though (as a member). A BP is here for what?
* Acting as a go-between between mods and members? But surely you are capable of organising yourselves and can PM us without having to go through a designated person.
* Welcoming new members? You all do that anyway =P
* Being a model for others and keeping everyone on track? But you're all very good at "moderating" yourselves, explaining the ropes to new members, etc.

So do you really need a BP? Of course, there's the fun aspect about the campaigning and voting. So, if you really want to keep the BP thing going, I propose you run a full election and stay without a BP until someone has been voted in. You can do vice-BP elections as well, if you really think it's necessary.

well its realy up to the members off the board, but i think we should do a full scale election, i think they are fun
