IN that theory it's not significant, however in any one where scarlett remains alive then it could be come significant since she has to get to know said person as well.

matt would be way too distracted. i think even if he was made to like her (which he couldnt if the rest of this were t happen as that would make the story too much about love) that he would ignore it, even if only until the fighting ws over.

good to know we have your approval, pedro.

and the way it keeps returning to the story being/becoming 'too much about love' is confusing me. In most teen books you read there's a 'romantic' (using the word loosely) sub plot of some kind... I can think of heaps of examples... why would this one randomly be a huge deep-and-meaningful love story??

thats an interesting point tho MC. I think you're probably right about Matt... Except, or course, towards the end of the book the five would be losing and Matt and Scarlett would be in a cell together again and thinking everyone else was dead and they were going to die too and they'd suddenly find themselves declaring their feelings for each other... and then they get out and live and things get a little 'awk-waaaaard!!'... LOL

scar is past, scarlett is present, they are different people.  The same but different, sort of like identical twins, they are the same, but due to their different experiences, and other outside factors, they could be quite different.

but they aren't. the fact that used a plural means they aren't. they had different exprencies... one is DEAD. they're identical twins like dj said

Yeah I just wanted to add - I agree - very very definitely not the same person. For example, Scar is smart, capable, brave, warrior-esque, etc.; Scarlett is a quite gutsy, but unseasoned, classic 21st C girl who has a lot of proving-herself to do and irritates me. Okay, the last part is hardly definitive, but you get the point. They are 100% different people... they just look alike.

Someone's going to come along and say 'As I said: identical twins, with different personalities shaped through different experiences' now, arent they. undecided

well i would have, but you seem to have beaten me to it... so i guess i dont have to, but i will point out i said 'like' identical twins are born at near enough the same time, to the same parents, they definately weren't
