in the old topic, pedro mentioned that lotr was loyal to the books. not so. alot was left out there as well...but the stuff they left out was rather boring in the book...so it didn't matter...

i was soooo upset that they left out the quiditch cup in the third movie...that was soo silly of them!!

i know. also i thought the dementors kiss was rubbish!!!!!!!!!! the best book to become a film is probably chamber of secrets or philosophers stone. i think DH will be good as they're splitting it in 2

COS was by far the best movie. it was hard to figure out what they left out, and it was put together very stylishly.  philosophers stone was okay, but it was the first one, sp you can forgive shortcomings.
POA was total rubbish, the warewolf was stupid, they left out waytoo muvh, and really lost the feeling of magic in my opinion.

Mmmm, I can't really remember them all that well to be honest. All I know is that in the last few, they really massacred the plot of the story. While I understand that making changes is necessary-especially if the book in question that they want to adapt is thicker than a brick, it still makes me feel mildly outraged. To ruin a good story that way!

Hey... this is a HP topic.

Anyway, I think the bext film was COS because it stayed very true to the books. As said before, it was hard to work out what was different from it. Everything ran together pretty much like the book.

Yeah... but then comes the problem of getting him in. They can't exactly say "Harry was at school for six years... he just didn't notice Peeves and so no one ever saw him." That would be too weird.

he could always come in as like a cameo. HP fans would know it was peeves but to everyone else he could just be another ghost taking part in the final battle

Good point. I'd still be sad though. Then again... to hear Peeves' end song. "Now voldy's gone mouldy..." <-- lol

W00t! Now that would be funny! But personally I think that theres so many  characters to inlcude that Peeves should just stay out of it now. He wasnt there is the beginning so I dont think he should make an appearance now, especially since HP caters for a wider audience and not just HP readers.
(I would have liked to have him though, he woulda been funny)
I'm thinkig he does have a small part in one of the movies somewhere...or am I imagining it?
