IMHO: I think any series about John RIder would be boring to the extreme. I don't really care about John Rider unless it is somehow directly involving Alex Rider. I feel the same aboutg Yassen. I don't care about Yassen or any villain/ally unless they relate to Alex. For me these books  are good because of the plots' realism and exotic locations AND mostly because of Alex's characterization and depth. I love reading about his thoughts when he's in a seroiously dangerous situation and not knowing how he will react: as the spy or as the scared boy or the newly developing teen or a mixture of them all.

Oooh, that's a good idea. But I hope AH will continue to write Alex Rider where he left off, when Alex turns fifteen. One thing why I' like Alex Rider so much is because he's a teenager. You don't see books about a teenage spy often, do you? That's what makes it so interesting, a fourteen year old spy.

Prequels would be good but I think that AH should write one last book in which MI6 let alex get back to his life and he graduates college.

On his graduation day MI6 approach him to work for them ahich at first he refuses but then he reconsiders and agrees to work for them on the condition that they tell him everything about his family to be told in a series of flashbacks.

Right at the end as a plot twist they should tell him he has a family member still living and then introduce them to him.

AH has said that he will make 10 books the next one which will probably be called scorpia rising will be written after Yassen the reason i think this will happen is thaat no one evn the prime mnister can stop the spy within alex and the mi6 he will always be a spy

The next book is going to be about alex. AH is contracted to Walker books to write Alex Rider books for them. The 10th one will be on Yassen. In an interview AH said that he would like to include Egypt and Ireland in part of the 9th Alex Rider book, which will be set on Alex...

I don't think that there will be any more books set in the world of Alex Rider after the 10th book. I think AH is over Alex Rider...and eger to move on to new things (and with PO5 soon to be finished as well...). So although John Rider books would be cool, I think they have a 99.9999% chance of not happening.

What interview was that? Is there a link available by any chance?
And i agree with spygirl on that Alex will always be a spy at heart, no matter what happens to him in the next book and how it all ends, you just cant go through all that and then try to pick up the pieces of your old life as a normal person. I think he will probably end up in the army or something like that.

You see if i wasnt so lazy I would think of something more creative and inspiring to write, but the sad truth is I'm really lazy and just not bothered right now.

Hmm sounds cool, maybe a epilogue like on harry potter and the deathly hallows, maybe something like a new book three years after showing Alex working for MI6 or something Tongue

Alex will always be a spy at heart which means he'll probably stay with MI6 I do like lloydosprey's  idea about an epilogue like Harry Potter.  We  all know that Alex will remain a  spy  until he  somehow meets his demise cry and if he  somehow pulls off a kind of normal life then  good for him.  Of course only AH knows what the end  to Alex's  story is.

I wish AH made Alex grow with us instead of remaining 14 through out the series.  I started these books when I was in 6th grade, I read Crocodile Tears during 11th grade and it seems I've outgrown the series   sad  Anyway, Alex being 14 and having all of that stuff happen to him in one year is super far-fetched.  I love AH's writing, but it would've been nice if Alex grew up with us like Harry Potter and the gang.

Now I'm trying to scrounge up AH's adult novels.  The Killing Joke is my favorite.

While I did like growing up with Harry Potter, I don't think it is necessary for Alex to have grown up.  I've been reading these books since 3rd or fourth grade and I read Crocodile Tears as a Freshman in college and still really enjoyed it.  I actually think it would be less realistic and exciting if these events were spread out across years because in real life spies are sent to do jobs constantly.  They don't just work for a few weeks out of the year or something.  It's just like any other job, you work constantly and you may have a project for a few weeks but when you are finished with your project you get a new one.

As for Alex becoming 15, etc. I suggest everyone reads Anthony's latest blog post if you haven't already.
