Sum of the bad guys were better than him at fighting, stronger and fully grown. He didn't have a choice, and if they weren't dead the story would not go on.

if you have killed someone you are a killer. every sodier is a killer. the question is if they did it for pleasure or because they wanted to...that would make them murderers

so alex is akiller but he is not a muderer

There is a difference between manslaughter and murder, even if they both result in a death.
Personally, I'd prefer Alex to be a murderer than dead, so I don't think he is.
