Who thinks the guys from the Aussie SAS tried to get Alex killed in the woods?

I don't really think they tried to get him killed. It was like Ash said it was only a test and Alex did have a beacon in his trainer so that the missiles and bombs would not be able to reach him. It was fired with pin point accuracy as I recall. So basically it was a set up to see how Alex would respond in such a situation and he handled it rather well I must say. Aspecially the mine field.

i doubt they were trying to get him killed. why bother taking all the safety measures? and they just seemed too nice. i think alex might have picked it up if they hated him, seeing as he's a spy and supposed to have good instincts and all

They set him up, but they never tried to get him killed. Wasn't it mentioned that Alex was tracked the whole time? They knew exactly where he was, so he wasn't in too much of a risk. Except for standing on a mine, but I doubt that they planned for him to go over a fence rolleyes.

Still, if I were Alex I'd have been giving them a good slappin'. Tongue

this is kind of unrelated but i think naming this topic "australia" is kind of misleading. it sounds like a discussion about australia in general, not the aussie SAS guys.

Moonfox if u read in the book they did tell him that is was only packed with half the explosive that it should have.

And Ash was there the whole time, he set off the mine 3 seconds (if I remember correctly, by grandma has my book right now) after Alex jumped.
