I don't know why it is so expensive. I didn't get it in the end.
I went to Asda, and it was £8! I don't know why the publishers have decided to get more money from us, for a bit of cardboard on the back. They've got along just fine with paperback, so I don't know what their reasoning was for the price increase.
A total price increase of double the price of the previous books (RRP). I love the Alex Rider books, don't get me wrong, but I simply couldn't afford it, with the money that a usual kid gets! I hope it comes out in paperback soon...

Thats the point, why have it in hardback? For an extra 5p in manufacturing costs, a £6 price increase is slapped on them.
There was a hardback book next to it on the shelf for £3.50 Lol
I as a child consumer shouldn't have to pay £8.00 on a children's book. I thought the Govt were trying to get kids to read! I can imagine some chav's parents looking at the popular kids books and saying '£8.00! I'm not paying that! I can rent a DVD for £2.00! Stuff the govt!'

you're complaining about 8 pounds being a lot? that's actually pretty cheap for a book, in hardcover. usually it's somehting like at least 10 pounds!

it is also a new book, prices are always higher on new books. It's normal that the older books would be cheaper by now, and in a while this one will be cheaper too

Almost all novels are released in hardback first, quickly followed by the paperback version. Hardback books are more durable and as such are better for libraries. Also you can get bargains if you shop around. I think £8 for a hard back is a pretty good price. There's lot so competition in the book market these days so you can pick up books quyite cheaply at Tesco. Play.com are selling Snakehead for £7.99 including free delivery. http://www.play.com/Books/Books/4-/3411088/-/Product.htmlHowever if that price is still too high for you then you can wait until the paperback is released.

That's how i got my copy, from there. I get most of my stuff from there, it usually works out cheaper than buying it over here
