Maybe he survived just like Alex did. Then he sneaked out of plane when everyone's attention was away?

He was one of the most mysterious and impressive characters in the series. I wish Yassen:The Novel is out soon. I am getting highly imaptient to study the novel, it seems very promising.

He suggested it at the Edinburgh Book Festival according to Wikipedia, but I think he's still considering the possibilities.
Yassen seems to be like marmite round here: you either love him or hate him.

I just read through the whole topic and here's what I think:
+About Yassen Not Killing Kids
I'm pretty sure there's some sort of law or something in England/Europe about kids and death. I remember this vaguely, from something I read on Wikipedia about Half-Life 2 not having kids in it anywhere, because something about a law in England/Europe. I'm not sure what it all applies to or if I'm even right, but that might have something to do with it.
+A Book About Yassen
Is something that I would buy for sure (keep that in mind, Mr. Horowitz
) And it would be completely awesome and amazing. I guess that there's about an even half of people that like and don't like him, but for the good of the series and a better understanding of John (whom we know NOTHING about) and Ian, it would be a nice addition. Maybe it could be a side series, starting when he was 14 or something. But it would rock.
+His Death
I, personally, don't think that Yassen is actually dead. The events surrounding Alex's sniping incident and Yassen's shot to the chest (in an unknown location) is just complete bullcrap to me. Also, he was probably expecting something like that from Cray, and was prepared in some way, but Anthony thought it best if we thought he was dead.
+His Job
I don't think Yassen thought in his childhood that he'd love to grow up and kill people for money. Also, he seems very indifferent about what his employer is doing. He really doesn't give a damn. I'm guessing (like most other people) that something happened when he was a kid and turning into a Contract Killer was the result.

I completely agree with you said. A very nice way to round of everything as well, very impressive. Also, him not killing children may also have something to do with his own childhood. Maybe his younger brother or sister was killed by some contract killer and he decided not to kill children only, but to be a killer in order to take revenge. Its only my assumption, and frankly speaking the chances of this theory being right are very slim as there are other odds as well.

Oh c'mon! Of
course
Yassen is dead. If he was alive, or if he ran away from the plane, MI6 would obviously have known! *rolls eyes*
*POSSIBLE SPOILER:*
As for that part about his job: In Snakehead it explains everything...and he probably
chose
to work for Scorpia...

Maybe. MI6 might've had a use for him though, and didn't want to capture him. Maybe they wanted him to meet up with Alex later.
