I don't exactly recall Yassen's hair color (or if it was even given) in the book, but I don't think he looked very good with red hair. It just didn't seem to fit and made him stand out. And since he's my favorite character in the whole series, I thought I'd mention this...
I was most disappointed that they cut the whole midnight "shuffle" from the movie. (When they transport the virus from the submarine and Yassen shoots the guy that drops the crate)
Also, how else was he different in the books/movies?

Yes, he does. After the "accident" when the Stormbreaker's didn't come online, Sayle picked Alex up in a Taxi (or a different vehicle) outside of MI6, and took him to the top of some building to kill him because he screwed everything up. Yassen flew down in a helicopter and killed him, and that's when Alex and Yassen had their talk about him going back to school. End of book.

They didn't cut the midnight "shuffle" from the movie. It wasn't quite the same as in the book but it was there. Yassen shot the guy in the vehicle when he accidently droped the crate. I can't remember what happened exatcly, but it was in the movie something like that.

I prefered the ending in the film to be honest...more fun that there was a back-up system etc

yeah, and about the midnight thing - i guess it would have been too expensive to include a submarine, but the scene itself was pretty much the same as in the book.

I watched the movie last night, and yes, they did include it, I must not have remembered it...although it
was
VERY obvious that Yassen didn't shoot anybody. That really bothered me for some reason. I was just so obvious that he didn't shoot him...

I'll take some screen shots to see if I can prove myself...edit in a bit.
Ok, shots are taken and edited, uploading now...

If you look closely and judge the angles, there's no way that he could have shot the guy, and you never even see a body...at all...

I think you're looking into this a little bit too much. The angles may be slightly out, but its clear whats intended, even if it isnt entirely accurate.

They should have had a staged death, with the fake blood and all. But it probably would have bumped it up to PG-13. (Which isn't exactly a bad thing)
And I have the Behind the Scenes book, and it said they have to get a helicopter for the 'midnight shuffle' because of the buget. It would have been cooler if they had the submarine
And it says in the book that Yassen has fair hair. Which interperts to blonde, I believe

There's a behind the scenes book...? o_O I'd like to see that... When did it come out and where could I find it, do you know?

Are you serious...? The book or the movie? Because that's crazy. There's no way this move should be anything more than 13+, and that's pushing it. I thought America has strict ratings...where do you live?
