I just got done with reading a book called Hawksong. It was a short book, but was really good. I have those books on my top five list. The second book called Snakecharmer, it was good to but I liked the first one better.

Phillip Pullman - His Dark Materials trilogy - and William Nicholson - The Wind on Fire trilogy - are both extremely good authors. And then there's Harry Potter...

The Wind on Fire?  Hated that book, the first one, whatever it was called.

We were made to read it in English, one of the worst books I've read from start to finish.

No Offence.

The Kevin and Sadie books are quite good if you're from Northern Ireland.

When The Wind Blows is EXCELLENT. It is written for adults though, bear that in mind, but it is really great. It's what started the MR series. You should really read it smiley But it won't be exactly the same like MR though... e.g. there's a few characters that are different, etc. So don't expect the story to relate to MR a lot.

After you read that, you should read The Lake House also... It's a continuance of WTWB. Awesome, too grin
