they are basically about these 5 children taht possess power and have to destroy an ancient evil that's come back into our world.  They're good, if you liek AH books, you should definately give them a try

In ray the Harry Potter comments, I hate to talk like an English obsessive (which I'm not) but Harry Potter is incredibly flexible and ingenius material, virtually anyone can read the books at any age and find something in them that they like and the series has switched an entire generation onto reading. Anyway, Po5 is a great series. It didn't really capture me personally but it was still thoroughly enjoyable and then again I'm a hard reader to please (I always spot the faults in other peoples' writing.)

Po5 IS better. I mean, I was a HUGE Harry Potter nut before Raven's Gate came out . . . but then I read Point Blanc and I instantly changed favourite authors. And that was major for me. I read Raven's Gate in Eight hours and it was so briliant! I read Evil star in 10 hours strait and Nightrise, I don't think I had ever been happier reading a book in my life. It took me 14 hours to read it, and I don't think I slept, ate, got up, or spoke during that whole time. I was just too involved in the stroy. The Po5 Are really BRILLIANT books!

Sure, that's fine scars, and if allUK likes Po5 as much as he or her personage says they do, then that's fine too. Perhaps it's just the fact that everybody has unique readings taste, but even though I'm not an obsessive of HP (I actually found the final confrontation with Harry and Voldemort rather disappointing) you can't discredit the series for their immaginative and flexibility elements, no matter how much your prefer AH or dislike JK. I'll be political and not say anything openly disheartening, AH is a great writer and so is JK but if there was ever a contest between the two of them, there could only be one winner. In any case, Po5= great series, as I said before, it didn't especially captivate me but there's still some magical element about it that refuses to let go. Maybe it's personal taste, maybe it's writing style, who knows? I certainly don't cheesy

you can't compare po5 to Harry Potter, they're different in plot and characters.  If you wanna compare Harry Potter to anything that AH has written, compare it to Groosham Grange, and remember that Groosham Grange was written at least 10 years before Harry Potter was, and suddenly the ingenuity of Harry Potter kind of fades away.  In my eyes at least

Woah, I'm sorry!
Personally I think any piece of reading material can be compared with another, but you're perfectly entitled to disagree with me. In any case I haven't readGroosham Grange so I can't reply on the ingenuity comment, but I think it would be pretty hard for ANY form of writing whether it be written by Shakespeare or your baby brother, can simply trample over HP when it comes to ingenuity, but I suppose there's be someone prepared to disagree with me. There's nothing wrong with saying something is BETTER, but it's no use pretending that Harry Potter is completely *cough cough* wink
