Yeah, he's not a bad writer. pretty good in fact. grin tongue

So Xero, do you think his books are better or worse than his site? tongue

Anybody want to hire a recently unemployed mod!!! She has a horse and will travel!! grin grin

BOT: I've just finished reading Bec - which I think is his best book so far.

consider her hired!

BOT

i saw darren shans books - but i dont know which one is the best to start me off on. any suggetions?

It depend on what you like. All of his books are horror/fantasy the Saga of Darren Shan  has 12 books and is about vampires. In "The Demonata" series there are currently 4 books published with more on the way. These are gorier than the Saga series so if you don't like blood and gore you might want to read the Saga.

is it kill bill/sin city gory or not that gory?

i'm going to get one soon..

I'd start with the Saga, personally, but maybe that's me. It just seems a little more logical, because it's already finished. You won't be disappointed either. Just be prepared for ... weird, unexpected things.

I really like the Half-Vampire series by him although I haven't got around to reading the Demon ones. The ending was VERY unexpected though.

I've just read the first, second and forth Demonata books now and I personally think Bec's the best so far although there a very gory ending.

i haven't inished both series yet but so far they're really good. It's just so irritating because the books take such a long time before they're released here in the Phils. so am not quite done reading them. But i would recomend the saga for those who don't like gorry stuff but the demonata is really great if you have a wild imagination shocked

I like the saga and the demonata as well, but I can't say Bec is the best book, because it is still being translated. From the other three I liked Slaughter the most.

really loved the saga. At the time i thought it was very gory but then i read some other books and now they are very very tame. I haven't read the Lord loss one's only because i wanted to make sure they weren't one of those go from reality-into Sci Fi books that are coming out now. The saga doesn't do that, it combines the two worlds into one.

Didn't like the ending realy, to sad for a book when the main character was just getting into the whole "Honey i'm a vampire" thing.
