no i was rereading the books and in one he said he wished he had a gun as there was armed guards everywhere and he had no protection but I don't think he could face up to actually using it and that is what is said in the book also

I think it goes against his moral values to kill in cold blood. He was brought up by his Uncle who I thinh had a high standered of morals.

Yeah if it was Blunt he might have come a little closer with the shot(It said it was way above mrs. jones head)but I don't think he would have been able to kill him either.

If he had to choose between shooting Blunt and Mrs. Jones I think he would choose Blunt because he's like a dead life (if you know what I mean)
